Private beta evaluation terms
Version 2026-10-31. This version stays available, unchanged, at liceno.io/beta-terms/2026-10-31.md. Previous version: 2026-10-18.
These terms govern an organisation's participation in the Liceno private beta. They apply from the time the owner of the organisation, meaning the member who holds the owner role in the Liceno dashboard, accepts them on its behalf.
1. Who we are
The Liceno private beta is operated by O2 CONSULTING SERVICES & INVESTMENT (O2CS&I), a French SAS with share capital of EUR 1,000, registered with the Paris trade and companies register under 797 575 339, registered office Tour Panorama, 60 rue Emeriau, 75015 Paris, France. Email: [email protected].
In these terms, "we" means O2CS&I and "you" means the organisation whose owner accepts them. The beta is offered to businesses for professional use only.
2. What the beta is
The beta lets software publishers evaluate Liceno before it is generally available. Admission is by invitation after we review a request. Your organisation receives the Beta plan, which gives access to the features available in the beta at the time.
The beta is a test service. Features may change, be removed or never become generally available. Nothing in the beta is a commitment about a future product, its price, its features or its availability.
3. No fee
The beta is free of charge. It never converts into a paid subscription by itself. A paid pilot, subscription or any other paid service requires a separate written agreement.
4. Test data only
The beta is for testing. You agree to:
- use only test or fictitious data, including for customers, licences, devices and usage;
- not enter personal data about real people other than the members of your organisation, and in particular no data about your real customers or end users;
- connect Stripe only in test mode, with a restricted test key (
rk_test_); live keys and live payments are not allowed; - not use the beta to issue or check licences for software in production.
You are responsible for the data you enter. If real personal data is entered by mistake, tell us: we will delete it within 30 days of your message. Because you may not enter personal data about your customers or end users, we do not act as your data processor for that data, and no data processing agreement applies to the beta.
You allow us to host, copy and process the data you enter only as needed to provide and secure the beta.
5. Your account information
To run the beta we process information about the members of your organisation: email address, name if given, sign-in and security records, roles, and the actions they take in the dashboard. We use it to provide the beta, secure it, keep an audit trail of changes and contact you about it.
This information is hosted with the providers named in our privacy policy: Cloudflare (application delivery), Microsoft Azure in the West Europe region (application and database), Amazon Web Services in Ireland (email sending) and our self-hosted email service. Processing by these providers may involve countries outside the European Economic Area; their data-processing terms provide safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
If a security incident affects this information, we will inform the owner without undue delay, in addition to any notification the law requires.
We keep this information while your organisation participates. When the beta ends or your participation ends, for any reason, we email the owner of your organisation within 30 days, and we delete your organisation's data 14 days after that email. In a security emergency we may delete it sooner, and we will tell the owner as soon as we can. We delete this information within 30 days after that post-participation deletion of your organisation's data, except for records we must keep by law or to establish or defend legal claims. You can exercise your data-protection rights as described in the privacy policy.
6. Availability and support
The beta is provided as is and as available. It has no service level, no uptime commitment, no support hours and no guaranteed backups. It runs on a single non-production environment and may be interrupted for maintenance, incidents or changes, sometimes without warning.
For a question or a problem, reply to any email you received from the Liceno beta, or use the contact page. We answer on a best-effort basis.
7. Changes, resets and the end of the beta
We may change the beta at any time. We will email the owner of your organisation at least 14 days before:
- the end of the beta; or
- a reset that deletes the data of your organisation.
Section 5 sets how and when your data is deleted after your participation ends.
In a security emergency we may suspend the beta or reset its data immediately, and we will tell you as soon as we can.
Data in the beta, including licences and credentials issued to your test customers, may stop working or disappear after a reset or at the end of the beta. The beta has no export feature: keep your own copy of anything you need.
If you breach these terms, we will ask you to remedy the breach within 7 days and may end your participation if you do not. We may suspend your access immediately when the breach puts the beta, its security or other organisations at risk. You may stop participating at any time by telling us.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- try to access another organisation's data, bypass access controls or test the security of the beta without our written agreement;
- overload the beta, including through load or stress testing, without our written agreement;
- use the beta for unlawful purposes or to process data you are not entitled to process;
- share your access with people outside your organisation.
If you find a security problem, report it to [email protected] and do not disclose it publicly before we have had a reasonable time to fix it.
9. Feedback and publicity
Your participation is not confidential. You may say that you take part in the beta and share your opinion of it.
If you send us comments or suggestions, you give us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive right to use, adapt and build them into our products, without obligation or payment to you. We will not name your organisation or use its logo in our communication without your prior consent.
10. Intellectual property
We keep all rights in Liceno, the beta and their documentation. During your participation, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the beta for evaluation under these terms. Software packages we publish separately are governed by their own licences; for example @liceno-io/verify is published under the MIT licence. You keep your rights in the data you enter.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranty about the beta, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the beta is limited to EUR 100. We are not liable for indirect damage, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of data.
These limits do not apply to liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for death or personal injury, or to any other liability that French law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
12. Term
These terms apply from their acceptance until the end of the beta or of your participation. Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 14 continue to apply after that.
13. New versions of these terms
The current version is published at liceno.io/beta-terms with its version date. Each version also stays available, unchanged, at a dated address such as liceno.io/beta-terms/2026-10-31.md. We email the owner of your organisation at least 14 days before a new version takes effect, except when a change is required by law or to fix a security problem. From that date, the owner must accept the new version to continue using the beta. If it is not accepted, your participation ends on that date and section 5 applies to your data.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute between professionals relating to them falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, subject to mandatory rules of jurisdiction. Before going to court, we both agree to try to settle the dispute amicably by writing to the other party.
